Deborah seeks crowd-funding to buy new cycle

New Delhi: Indian cyclist Deborah Herold, a Tsunami survivor who is currently ranked fourth in the world, is seeking crowd funding to purchase a customised cycle to participate in the upcoming Track World Cup in Glasgow.
The 21-year-old Deborah needs to purchase a cycle worth Rs 7 lakh to be on par with her competitors.
With the right training and exposure, she believes she can make India proud.
Speaking on her preparations for the championship in November, Deborah said, "I am looking forward to exhibit my best form and skills in the championship in Glasgow. I'm training rigorously and hope to achieve the standards set by my coach and eventually win for my country."
Socorre.com has tied up with Milaap.org, India's largest crowdfunding platform to raise funds for the young cyclist to help her prepare for the international competition.
At the ongoing Track Asia Cup in Delhi, Deborah took home two gold medals after beating Malaysia, Hong Kong and Kazakhstan in two different events.
